direction of the j.f.x. for the next two months. we're not seeing any significant delays right now. everything moving well on the north side, a 55 miles per hour all the way down the west side down to edmondson. 57 on southbound 295 towards 197. eight minutes on southbound 895 down to the harbor tunnel tolls. 11 minutes to travel the west side outer loop stretch. this is 95 towards the fort mchenry. southbound traffic looks pretty good but volume is building. we switch over to captain ride flying above the j.f.x. and we are not tracking any delays. we do anticipate that to be the case as volume picks up. leave early with a left lane

closure in both directions. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> the j.f.x. lane closures is our big story this morning. >> get ready for gridlock. kim dacey is live in northwest baltimore with the story. >> right now and looks okay. one lane of southbound is close but things are moving just fine. skyteam 11 is taking a look at the j.f.x. from above. increase in volume this time of the morning. no delays yet. city officials are urging folks to avoid the j.f.x. if possible. one lane in each direction between 29th street and northern parkway is shut down and that is expected to last at least two months. crews are working to repair

crushed drain pipes. drivers are urged to familiarize themselves with secondary roads. >> we will have one lane closed in each direction, which means capacity will be decreased in each direction. this will be challenging. >> skyteam 11 will continue to give you the updates. for a list of alternate routes, you can find them on our website, wbaltv.com. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> a police officer was rushed to shock trauma after being struck by a car at a traffic stop. this was on eastbound route 50. three people were inside the car that struck him.

the officer is expected to recover. a motorcycle crash on the beltway. walter elliot jr. was riding his bike. he slammed into a sign at was pronounced dead at shock trauma. no word as to what set off a brush fire in edgewood. the flames were spotted just before 2:00 a.m. at beach dr ive boulevard. only one building and one boat were destroyed. >> an aerial assault on saturday. nearly 100 tornadoes killed five people. we have more from the hardest- hit part of oklahoma.

afternoon. it is in the mid 60's in many areas. 64 degrees at the airport. a local or up north. 52 in frederick. -- a little cooler up north. not quite as humid. a chance for thunderstorms this evening with a high temperature around 86. the average high is 65 and the record is 90. we'll come close to the record. after the front goes through tonight, scattered thunderstorms and will cool off. 74 tomorrow. in the 60's to the middle portion of the week. we could use some rain. the chance for rain goes up into the weekend. 6:13. here is sarah.

seven-day forecast. >> you might want to avoid the j.f.x. this morning. >> road work is started with lane closures in each direction. that could cause some big backups. kim dacey joins us with details. the volume is not immense but that could pick up shortly. >> we're starting to see a bit of a backup. there was an accident on the j.f.x. around 29th street pier it was a chain reaction crash as folks slammed on their brakes. it is blocking two of the lanes. you can see the accident scene. the left lane is block for construction now the second left in is also blocked because of the accident. traffic is crawling by.

the back of is southbound on the j.f.x. in the area of 29th street. we will give you an idea of what we're looking for as far as going for in the next couple of months. there's no doubt the j.f.x. is the most convenient way to get in and out of downtown baltimore. it will become more of a mess. construction is already underway. officials have an urgent message for drivers. >> please stay off the j.f.x. >> one lane in each direction will be closed. crews are working to repair crushed drain pipes, which will help prevent sinkholes from forming. >> we will have one lane closed in each direction, which means capacity will be decreased in each direcon. this will be challenging.

the police commissioner expressed his feelings. >> these are the standards for conduct that we expect in baltimore. there's a price to pay. >> police are still trying to track down these suspects. these three people are wanted in the case. if you know who or where they are, you're asked to call baltimore police. >> a scandal involving a dozen secret service members remains. lawmakers on capitol hill are asking questions about the incident. >> president obama addressed the scandal while still in colombia. he says he has full confidence in the secret service. he will be angry if the allegations are true. an embarrassing scandal over the trip to the international

summit in colombia. -- an embarrassing shadow. 11 agents are accused of misconduct involving prostitution. >> what happened here in colombia is being investigated by the director of the secret service. i expect that investigation to be thorough and i expect it to be rigorous. >> the alleged incident involves several women, some allege to be prostitutes. they were brought to this hotel by the secret service. a formal report revealed the scandal. -- eight reporter revealed the scandal -- a reporter revealed the scandal. >> one of the agents refused to pay. she complained to the police. >> the agents were sent back to washington and placed on administrative leave. prostitution is legal in some parts of colombia. this is a breach of agency conduct. >> this kind of a breach is a breach in the federal work

a police officer is rushed to shock trauma after being struck by a car at a traffic stop. this happened just before 10:00 p.m. on sunday night. he was hit by an oncoming car. two of the people inside the car are in custody. no word on an arrest into a deadly shooting in west baltimore. police say phillip scott was shot multiple times on saturday night. witnesses say scott cut into an argument with a group of men before shots were fired. a second person was reportedly shot at in the incident was not injured. a teacher is facing 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to of sexual relations with students on and off campus.
